What would you do if you had three wishes? Everyone has probably asked themselves this question at some point and imagined the most wonderful things. Erik Schmitt shows us that this beautiful fantasy might not be quite so fabulous in reality in "The Life of Wishes," a film adaptation of Thomas Glavinic's novel of the same name. The focus is on Felix (Matthias Schweighöfer), a family man whose life is at a dead end in every respect: he is bored with his job, his wife (Luise Heyer) wants to separate from him, and his children are distancing themselves from him. In this situation, a mysterious stranger (Henry Hübchen) offers to grant him three wishes - and suddenly Felix's problems seem to be solved. Soon, however, he realizes that this supposed blessing can also be a curse... Director Schmitt, who already demonstrated his talent for fairy-tale-like everyday stories in the award-winning "Cleo," stages the story as a mixture of modern fairy tale and existentialist reflection. His visual ingenuity and flair for magical realism keep the film free of kitsch and pathos. "The Life of Wishes" is entertaining and thought-provoking – almost a pre-Christmas film.

FFA fördert 54 Kinoprojekte mit 2,9 Mio. Euro

In der dritten Förderrunde der FFA-Kinoförderung nach dem FFG 2025 wurden 54 Anträge mit einem Gesamtvolumen von 2.852.748,58 Euro positiv beschieden, darunter eine Neuerrichtung.

FFF Bayern fördert 29 Projekte für Kino und TV mit 3,1 Mio. Euro

Der Vergabeausschuss für die FFF Film- und Fernsehförderung hat am 12. November zum vierten Mal 2025 getagt und entschieden, 29 Projekte mit insgesamt rund 3,1 Mio. Euro zur Förderung zu empfehlen.

FFA vergibt 1,7 Millionen Euro kulturelle Filmförderung für 14 Dokumentarfilme

In ihrer zweiten Fördersitzung hat die Jury für Dokumentarfilme 1.381.000 Euro Produktionsförderung für neun Filmprojekte vergeben, von denen sechs als Talentfilm gefördert wurden. Darüber hinaus bewilligte sie 315.500 Euro Projektentwicklungsförderung für fünf Dokumentarfilmprojekte. Insgesamt wurden somit 14 Projekte mit 1.696.500 Euro gefördert.
