Pit Bukowski was born in 1988 and had no formal training as an actor. At the age of 15, he was discovered by Stefan Krohmer, who cast him in a pivotal supporting role in the satire "Sie haben Knut" ("They've Got Knut", DE/AT 2003). He next appeared in the anarchic comedy "Max und Moritz Reloaded" (2005) and guest-starred on several TV shows. After major roles in "Dorfpunks" (2009) and the low-budget thriller "Dr. Ketel" (2011), Bukowski had a memorable turn as a young felon in the award-winning drama "Schuld sind immer die anderen" ("Shifting the Blame", 2012).

Following more TV appearances, he had leading roles in the coming-of-age comedy "Grossstadtklein" and the conspiracy thriller "Lost Place" (2013). He next played a German soldier deployed in Afghanistan in the 2014 war drama "Zwischen Welten" ("Inbetween Worlds") and a mysterious swordsman in the horror film "Der Samurai" ("The Samurai", 2014). In 2015, Bukowski was part of the cast in Andreas Dresen's youth portrait "Als wir träumten" ("As We Were Dreaming") and was one of the leads in the surreal mystery "Der Bunker" ("The Bunker").
