Biography

Samuel Schneider was born in Berlin on April 7 1995. At the age of twelve, he began taking regular acting lessons at the Special Coaching Actors Studio Berlin. In 2008/2009, he had first supporting roles in the TV dramas "Guter Junge" ("A Good Boy"), "Lilys Geheimnis", "Der Typ, 13 Kinder & ich" and in the TV series "SOKO Wismar". He made his feature film debut in the 2010 production "Boxhagener Platz", a shy boy who gains confidence thanks to his lively grandmother. He next portrayed the son of a family whose lives are turned upside down in the made-for-TV film "Familie Windscheidt - Der ganz normale Wahnsinn" (2012).

In Caroline Link's "Exit Marrakech" ("Morocco", 2013), he starred opposite Ulrich Tukur as a 17-year-old who clashes with his estranged father during a trip through Marocco. In late 2013, Schneider appeared in his first international production, the US romantic comedy "Lost Luck" which stars Linda Hamilton. A year later he received the New Faces Award for his performance in "Exit Marrakech".

On TV, he starred in supporting roles in the much-praised relationship comedy "Süßer September" (2015) as well as in the thriller "Die siebte Stunde" (2016).

Schneider played a lead role in David Clay Diaz' "Agonie" ("Agony", DE/AT 2016), a drama about a young man, who seemingly motiveless becomes a murderer. In September 2017, "Krieg" (TV-title: "Fremder Feind") premiered at the International Film Festival in Venice, a film about a middle-class couple (Ulrich Matthes, Barbara Auer), whose son (Samuel Schneider) gets killed while serving in Afghanistan. In addition to that, in 2017 Schneider appeared in guest roles in the TV series "SOKO München", "Schuld" and "Der Puppenspieler".

At the Filmfest Munich 2018, two films premiered that star Samuel Schneider: the post-apocalyptic drama "Ende Neu" ("The New End") and Detlev Buck's "Asphaltgorillas" ("Asphalt Gorillas") with Schneider playing the lead character of a petty crook in Berlin.

In 2019, he was part of the ensemble of Robert Thalheim's award-winning children's film "TKKG," and in Franziska Buch's Hanover "Tatort" episode "National feminin" (2020), he had a leading role as a right-wing extremist. Also in 2020, he played a self-absorbed womanizer and best friend of the female lead character alongside Edin Hasanović and Alicia von Rittberg in the feature film "Hello Again - Ein Tag für immer" ("Hello Again - A Wedding A Day"). His character was also idolized by women in Doris Dörrie's social comedy "Freibad" ("The Pool", 2022), in which he played the coveted lifeguard of a Berlin women's swimming pool.
