Summary
Thirteen singles, aged between almost seventy to eighty-something, want to look for new romantic partners by going to a speed-dating event: Each round, they have seven minutes to get to know the person sitting across the table and to decide whether they want to meet for another date or not. Then a bell rings softly and they have to move up one seat to the next person. The motivations of the participants vary: Johann Schäfer only signed up because he promised his deceased wife to find someone new, while Martha Schneider longs for physical contact with another person.
The film is largely improvised; the actors only knew the background of their respective characters and every scene was shot in one take.
