Their eight-year-old daughter urgently needs a donor heart, but all waiting and hoping seems to be in vain - even after one year no suitable organ has been found. The couple's nerves are strained. Then Michael decides not to wait any longer but to act. Against all warnings he tries to get a heart for his daughter through an illegal organ dealer.
