Einsamkeit und Sex und Mitleid
Sex, Pity and Loneliness
Adaptation of the eponymous novel by Helmut Krausser. The story focuses on an assorted group of urbanites, who all have to cope with different romantic problems. There's retired school teacher Ecki who runs an "anger room" in which aggressive people can let off steam. For instance family man Robert who also models for artist Janine. The latter has met supermarket manager Uwe on an online dating site. Uwe's ex-wife Julia, a stressed-out doctor, fights her loneliness by hiring callboy Vincent. Vincent is happy in his relationship with girlfriend Vivian, and to keep it that way, the two have made an unusual agreement. Moreover, there's 14-year-old Swentja, who shares a dark secret with Ecki and suffers from the marriage crises of her parents, and racist Thomas and his girlfriend Carla. The paths of all these characters eventually cross, sometimes without their notice.
