Radio Heimat

Adaptation of Frank Goosen's eponymous collection of stories about Frank, Spüli, Mücke and Pommes, set in the Ruhr Area in the mid-80s. The four teenage friends have only two things on their minds: finding their first true loves and finally having sex. It turns out, however, that things are never as easy as they should be and that everyday life holds enough challenges for the lads. Still, they try to stay at it: Taking the romanticizing stories of Frank's father as a guide they practice drinking beer and they sign up for dance lessons. They set up a place to party in the basement and even start their own rock band, to little success. Their hopes that things will work out for them, girl-wise, are never fulfilled. A school trip seems like their last chance to finally score.
