Summary

Munich, 1938. After his traditional Jewish restaurant is destroyed during the Nazi pogrom of November 1938, restaurateur Richard Schwarz teams up with the charismatic jack-of-all-trades Edgar Enders to hatch a daring plan: they open an ambitious Jewish cooking school. While Edgar, who is not Jewish, uses the venture to gain access to high-ranking Nazi circles, Schwarz is able to use the school to help Jewish people flee the country - since some potential host nations only accept Jews with formal vocational training. At first, Edgar manages to charm the local Nazi leadership into granting a permit. But it doesn't take long before their bold scheme starts to spiral out of control: chaos reigns in the kitchen, Edgar is secretly supplying the students' meals to Nazi officials, and the Gauleiter's wife is suddenly determined to reinvent herself as the school's star chef. Before Richard and Edgar realize what's happening, they find themselves in way over their heads - and in very real danger.
