Woyzeck

Summary

Largely accurate adaptation of Georg Büchner's play fragment and the third cooperation of Werner Herzog with Klaus Kinski: In the middle of the 19th century in a small garrison town, fusilier Woyzeck, adjunct of the captain, tries to support Marie and his illegitimate child. He even lets the doctor misuse him for medicinal experiments. When the captain and the doctor reveal to him that Marie messes around with the drum major, Woyzeck kills Marie with a knife. Then he drowns himself in the pond.
