Daniel Michel was born in 1987. Since 2007, he performs as singer, lyricist and composer of Hamburg-based band "Liedfett". In 2008, he was cast by director Lars Jessen for the screen adaptation of the novel "Dorfpunks". This was followed by guest roles in several TV series and a part in Hermine Huntgeburth's adaptation of Sven Regner's novel "Neue Vahr Süd" (2010). Michel was cast as one of the leads in Markus Busch's drama "Die Räuberin", playing a teenager in rural Northern Germany who enters a fateful relationship with a much older woman.

He played the best friend of the titular character in Katrin Gebbe's acclaimed and controversial drama "Tore tanzt" (2013). In "Nordstrand" (2013) he was seen as a reclusive young man who is urged by his brother to confront the traumatic memories of their childhood and abusive father.

At the end of 2013, he was seen in the TV comedy "Ein Schnitzel für alle" alongside Armin Rohde as flatmate and wheelchair user Robert. In the docudrama "Meine Tochter Anne Frank" (2015), he portrayed the Dutch Nazi Tonny Ahlers, who blackmailed and allegedly betrayed the Frank family. He had a small role on the big screen in the science fiction thriller "A Cure for Wellness" (2016).    

Mostly, however, Michels played guest roles in various TV series, such as an episode of "SOKO Hamburg" ("Tod an der Alster," 2021) as a violent drug dealer.   

He had a leading role on the big screen in "Coup" (2019), which is based on a true case and tells the story of a 22-year-old bank employee who exploited a security loophole to rob millions in 1988. The film premiered at the Hofer Filmtage 2020 and received several awards in the following months. It was theatrically released in German cinemas in summer 2021.   

In addition to his work as an actor, Daniel Michel continues to be a singer, lyricist and composer with the Hamburg band "Liedfett".
