Helm achieved greater fame in 2000 with her leading role in the teenage comedy "Harte Jungs" alongside Tobias Schenke and Axel Stein. She was then an associate producer on RP Kahl's "A Thought of Ecstasy" ("Ecstasy", DE/US/CH 2017).  After a small appearance as a nurse in Julie Delpy's "My Zoe" (FR/DE/PT 2019), Helm was seen in a leading role in RP Kahl's "Als Susan Sontag im Publikum saß" ("When Susan Sontag Was Sitting in the Audience", 2021), in which she played the US author and LGBT activist Jill Johnston.
