Annaluise and Anton

Annaluise has rich parents who are so busy with social obligations that they seldom have any time for her. Anton comes from a very poor background and works every evening in a little ice-cream parlour as a stand-in for his sick mother. In spite of these social differences, the two are the best of friends. In the new film version of Erich Kaestner′s children′s book of the same name, Annaluise isn′t selling matches this time to help Anton earn some money, but is instead singing in Munich′s town center while her parents are at the opera. Annaluise learnt the songs from her French aupair Laurence whom the eternally absent parents thought was the ideal chaperone for Annaluise. When Carlos, Laurence′s greasy boyfriend, tries to break into Annaluise′s home, Anton is, fortunately, there again and the housekeeper, big fat Berta, has a great idea....
