The young factory worker Mecky Berger does not believe in "true love" and for him, female acquaintances are just pastimes. In fact he and his friends find romance embarrasing for a man. That is until he meets Christa, who in his eyes is so completely different from the women he has had his affairs with so far. His feelings for her are of a previously unknown, confusing intensity - Mecky has fallen in love and now has to learn to deal with this unknown feeling...
