Biography

Victoria Schulz was born in 1990. She studied acting at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg, and in 2013, she made her screen debut in a small role in the "Tatort" episode "Machtlos" (TV). She next became the female lead in In Christian Frosch's "Von jetzt an kein Zurück" ("Rough Road Ahead", 2014), playing a disillusioned, drugged-out singer who by chance meets the lost love of her youth. Her performance won Schulz the award for Best Actress at the 2014 Filmfest Oldenburg. She next played a mentally challenged 18 year-old struggling to take control of her own life in "DORA oder die sexuellen Neurosen unserer Eltern" ("Dora or The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents"). For this role and for her performance in "Von jetzt an kein Zurück", she received the New Faces Award as Best Newcomer. At the Festival international de films de femmes de Créteil she was awarded with the Grand Prix d'interprétation for her role in "DORA oder die sexuellen Neurosen unserer Eltern", which also brought her a nomination as Best Actress at the Preis der deutschen Filmkritik.

In 2017, Schulz starred in a lead role as real-life holocaust survivor Ellen Lewinsky in "Die Unsichtbaren - Wir wollen leben" ("The Invisibles", 2017). Director Philipp Eichholtz then cast her for his film "Rückenwind von vorn" ("Away You Go") in the role of a determined young woman who reaches a crossroads in her life. The film premiered at the Berlin IFF in February 2018 and was released in German cinemas shortly after.

At the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival, "Electric Girl" had its premiere at the beginning of 2019, with Schulz in the title role of a voiceover artist who is gradually slipping into psychosis. Since then, she has appeared in leading roles in several television productions, including the family comedy "Verliebt in Kroatien" (2020) and episodes of the crime series "Polizeiruf 110", "Tatort" and "SOKO Potsdam".

Schulz played a leading role in Bettina Blümner's "Vamos a la Playa" (2022), about three friends from Germany and their experiences during a trip to Cuba.
