Summary
The wealthy widow Maria Alsbacher falls in love with a charming bandleader, oblivious to the fact that he′s only after her money. When Maria decides to marry him, her son and his gravely ill wife do everything they can to prevent the marriage. Robbed of her illusions about finding love late in life, Maria is left with little but loneliness and resignation in the end.
