Emilio Sakraya
Emilio Sakraya, born on June 29, 1996, as Emilio Sakraya Moutaoukkil in Berlin, stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of nine, for a commercial. Despite acting, he was also enthusiastic about music, playing guitar, piano and drums; he practiced karate as well, winning a German championship title in 2010. In the same year he gave his cinema debut in the Bushido biopic "Zeiten ändern dich" ("Time You Change"), followed by roles in "V8 - Du willst der Beste sein!" ("V8 – Start Your Engines"), several "Bibi & Tina" films and appearances in TV series and movies, including Züli Aladag's contribution to the award-winning three-parter "Mitten in Deutschland: NSU" (2016).
In 2017, Sakraya appeared in Hanno Olderdissen's feature film "Rock My Heart" as well as in the crime series "4 Blocks," which was a hit with critics and audiences. This was followed by larger supporting roles in the horror thriller "Heilstätten" ("The Sanctuary", 2017) and Marco Petry's supernatural teen comedy "Meine teuflisch gute Freundin" ("How to Be Really Bad", 2018), as well as leading roles in the comedy "Kalte Füße" ("Cold Feet", 2018) and the fairy tale adaptation "Der Schweinehirt" (2018, TV).
In 2019, Emilio Sakraya received a nomination for the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award for his role in "Tatort: Das verschwundene Kind". Also in 2019, he starred in the Netflix fantasy series "Warrior Nun" and took a lead role in the post-apocalyptic Netflix series "Tribes of Europa" directed by Philip Koch.
In 2021, another leading role in a feature film followed: in Til Schweiger's "Die Rettung der uns bekannten Welt" Sakraya embodied a young man suffering from bipolar disorder. In the Amazon comedy "One Night Off," also released in 2021, he played the main role of a party-loving father who has to take care of his baby for the first time. 2021 also saw the completion of Til Schweiger's "Lieber Kurt" ("Dear Kurt") and Fatih Akin's "Rheingold."
In 2022, Emilio Sakraya was named German Shooting Star of the Year at the "European Shooting Stars" awards.
In addition to his film career, he remained musically creative and, after his first single "Down By the Lake" in 2016, released his debut album "Roter Sand" in September 2020.
