Luisa-Céline Gaffron was born in Vienna on 6 June 1993. Already as a pupil she appeared on stage among others at the Theaterhaus für junges Publikum Dschungel Wien (2004 in Chekhov's "Kaschtanka") and at mo.ë Wien (2011 in "Pornography" by Simon Stephens). From 2014 to 2018 she studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts. During this time she performed on stage at the Hans Otto Theatre in Potsdam and the Deutsches Theater Berlin, among others. At the Berliner Ensemble she impersonated Wendy Gilbert in "A Woman - Mary Page Marlowe" in the 2017/18 season.

Gaffron also made her debut on the big screen during her studies: in 2016 she played the best friend of Jella Haase's main character in Leonie Krippendorff's "Looping". In the following years, Gaffron appeareed in guest roles in a number of TV series, such as in "SOKO Leipzig" (2017). She had an important role in the much praised end-time mini-series "8 Tage" ("8 Days", 2019), as the rebellious daughter of a fanatical prepper (Devid Striesow). For her performance she received a nomination for the German Acting Award in the category Young Talent.

"Stillstehen" ("Stay Still", DE/IT) premiered at the Munich Film Festival in summer 2019, starring Gaffron as a busy psychiatric nurse who befriends a sarcastically self-willed patient (Natalia Belitski). In Caroline Link's adaption of a youth book "Als Hitler das rosa Kaninchen stahl" ("When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit", 2019), she had a supporting role as an Austrian student in the house of a Jewish family that had fled from the Nazis to Paris.

The episode "Monster" (2020) of the long-running crime series "Tatort", in which Gaffron played an abuse victim taking revenge on a former tormentor, received much critical praise. For this role and for her part as a kitchen help in the concentration camp drama "Persischstunden" ("Persian Lessons", 2020 RU/DE/BY) she was nominated for the New Faces Award for Best Young Actress. Also in 2020 Gaffron debuted at the Salzburg Festival in "Zdeněk Adamec" by Peter Handke.

She had a leading role on the big screen in the antifa milieu study "Und morgen die ganze Welt" ("And tomorrow the Entire World", 2020), as a committed anti-fascist and best friend of the main character (Mala Emde). The film celebrated its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and was released in German cinemas in October 2020.
