Biography

Deleila Piasko was born on May 2, 1991 in Switzerland to a dancer and a physicist and grew up in Zurich. She gained her first acting experience in 2004 and had a leading role alongside Joel Basman in the Swiss comedy "Cannabis - Probieren geht über Regieren" (2006) and another leading role in 2010 in the Swiss coming-of-age drama "Boys Are Us", which was released in Swiss cinemas in 2012.

From 2011 to 2015, Piasko studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst 'Ernst Busch' in Berlin. While still a student, she appeared on stage at the Berliner Arbeiter-Theater (bat) in 2013 in Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus" and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in 2014 in Sławomir Mrożek's "On the High Seas."

After graduating in 2015, she was a permanent ensemble member at the Konzert Theater Bern until 2017, where her roles included the title role of "Anne Frank." In 2015 she was awarded the Migros Kulturprozent Acting Prize in Switzerland, and in 2016 the Junge Tangente Acting Prize. In 2017 she received an engagement at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, from where she moved on to the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater for the 2019/20 season.

On screen, Deleila Piasko appeared only very sporadically during these years, such as in supporting roles in the social drama "Luca tanzt leise" ("Dancing Quietly", 2016) and the family film "Papa Moll und die Entführung des fliegenden Hundes" (CH/DE 2017). It was not until 2018 that she was seen more regularly. Among other roles, she played the daughter of Jürgen Prochnow's main character in an episode of the crime series "Der Lissabon-Krimi" (2018), was seen as a prostitute and witness in an episode of "Der Zürich-Krimi" (2019) with Christian Kohlund, and played a real estate agent in the miniseries "Die Ibiza Affäre" (2021).

In 2019, Leander Haußmann cast her in a leading role in his feature film "Stasikomödie" ("A Stasi Comedy") the last part of his "GDR Trilogy" after "Sonnenallee" ("Sun Alley") and "NVA". I the comedy, she played a Berlin artist and secret crush of a Stasi informant. Even before this film was released in May 2022, Piasko was seen in the fall of 2021 in Detlev Buck's Thomas Mann adaptation "Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull" ("Confessions of Felix Krull") in the role of Zouzou, daughter of Professor Kuckuck (Joachim Król) and love interest of Felix Krull (Jannis Niewöhner).
