Biography

David Zimmerschied was born in 1983. From 2002 until 2005, he studied acting in Munich, and later made his feature film debut as the male lead in the WWII drama "Der geköpfte Hahn" (RO/D 2007). He then had supporting roles in Marcus H. Rosenmüller's rural coming-of-age films "Beste Zeit" (2007) and "Beste Gegend" (2008), as well as in the Russian war drama "Dot" (2009). Moreover, he guest-starred in TV series like"Zur Sache, Lena!", "SOKO Stuttgart" and "Tatort", and also appeared in the made-for-TV feature productions "Die Drachen besiegen" (2009), "Was machen Frauen morgens um halb vier?" (2012) and the mini-series "Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter" (2012).

David Zimmerschied had his first leading role in a theatrical release in Philip Gröning's award-winning and critically acclaimed drama "Die Frau des Polizisten" (2013), in which he plays a police officer whose stress on the job leads him to abusing his wife.
