Axel Schreiber, born January 30, 1977, in Lübben, attended actor's training at Hannover's Hochschule für Musik und Theater from 2004 to 2006. After several smaller roles in films such as "Autobahnraser" ("A2 Racer") und "Schwarze Erdbeeren" ("Black Strawberries"), Schreiber in 2006 starred in six episodes of the TV series "Türkisch für Anfänger" ("Turkish for Beginners"), whose cast won the German TV award. Schreiber then appeared in several other TV productions such as "SOKO Wismar" and "Doppelter Einsatz". But at the end of 2007, Schreiber returned to the big screen and starred in two movies: In "Weißt was geil wär", he portrayed an amateur film-maker, and in "Berlin am Meer" ("Berlin by the Sea"), he played a young and laddish musician.
Numerous further appearances in TV series and films followed, including guest roles in "Ein Fall für zwei", "Soko Leipzig", "Der Bergdoktor", "Notruf Hafenkante" and "Die drei von der Müllabfuhr", as well as a recurring role in the series "Christine. Perfekt war gestern!" (2013) with Diana Amft. He appeared on the big screen only occasionally, for example in supporting roles in "Für Elise" ("For Elise", 2012) alongside Jasna Fritzi Bauer, in Mike Marzuk's "Der junge Häuptling Winnetou" ("Young Winnetou and the Lost Buffalo", 2021) and in "Broke. Alone. A Kinky Love Story" (2024) by Anna Unterweger. In early 2025, he appeared in four episodes of the hospital series ’In aller Freundschaft" – his final role.
Axel Schreiber died on 3 June 2026 at the age of 49 following a long battle with cancer.
