Simon Rupp was born in Kempen in 1999. He has swum for the DLRG Grefrath for many years and took part in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin in 2023. In 2022, he took on the role of Matze alongside Wotan Wilke Möhring in the basketball comedy "Weil wir Champions sind". Shortly afterward, director Peter Thorwarth cast him in the Netflix film "Blood & Gold" (2023) – his role as the brother of the female lead in the drama, set during the Second World War, earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Jupiter Awards.
He went on to take part in a range of further productions: also in 2023, he appeared in the second season of Leonie Krippendorff's ARD web series "2 Minuten – 24/7," was featured in the TV comedy "Entführen für Anfänger" (2024), and in 2025 took on a role in Rainer Kaufmann's TV crime drama "Die Frau in Blau", alongside Jonas Nay and Joachim Król.
In late summer 2026, Marc Rothemund's remake of the hit French comedy "Un p'tit truc en plus," titled "Das gewisse Etwas", hit theaters – with Rupp playing Joshua, a footballer and Bayern Munich fan who is part of a travel group of people with disabilities that two small-time crooks infiltrate while fleeing the police.
