Summary
After the death of their mother, Nora and Agnes Borg are forced to confront their estranged father, Gustav - a once-celebrated director who abandoned the family when the sisters were still young. While Nora pursued her acting career without compromise, Agnes chose a life of family and stability. Now, after years of silence, Gustav suddenly reappears - smiling charmingly, carrying the emotional baggage of half a lifetime. He hopes for a comeback with an autobiographical screenplay about his mother, who was traumatized by torture under the Nazis during World War II and later took her own life. Gustav offers Nora the lead role, but she refuses. Instead, the part goes to Hollywood actress Rachel Kemp, whom Gustav meets during a retrospective of his films. Filming in his childhood home soon stirs up old family dynamics, and it gradually becomes clear that father and daughters are more alike than they realized. Perhaps it's not too late for a new beginning.
