Oh my dear husband!
Gerlinde has suddenly stopped. And this was just when she wanted to go on holiday .. with her husband and child .. from Berlin to Denmark. That′s exactly what they′ve done for so many years. Just like how a lot has been the same for ages - or, rather, was. For her husband and daughter have forgotten her.
At a petrol station, in snow-covered North Germany. There she is standing now - and it′s slowly getting dark. "If one can′t go on any further, then one must simply stop", Gerlinde boldly decides - and stops, in a sleepy Baltic resort in winter. The beach is empty, the sea is calm, Gerlinde is even calmer - then she gets to know the natives. And a man. And her heart opens up, as do her eyes and ears, and anyway, life could be so wonderful. All the things one goes and forgets.. Oh, my dear husband!
