Moon Father
17-year old Mamlakat lives with her widowed father and her brother who is disturbed by his wartime experiences in Afghanistan in a small village near Samarkand, the capital of Uzbekistan. It is Mamlakat′s biggest dream to become an actress. When a theatre company visits the village, Mamlakat gets seduced in the dark of the night by a man whom she takes for an actor. Soon after the theatre company has left the village, Mamlakat discovers that she is pregnant. Now, her father desperately wants to marry her to the unknown father of the child. Thus, he embarks on an odyssey through all the theatres of the region that leads to a series of strange and bizarre incidents.
