A film about outsiders and drop-outs and the directorial debut by actor Vadim Glowna: Skoda, son of a wealthy banker, is fed up with his bourgeois home and leaves it to work for the taxi driver Eva. He has a relationship with her and shares a taxi with her: he drives at night, she during the day. Liane quits her apprenticeship as a hairdresser without knowing what to do next. Liane gets to know Skoda. Together they dream of fleeing to America. They sleep together. Eva catches them and commits suicide. Her ex-husband blames Skoda for Eva's death. The stripper Hilke is chased and murdered by pimps. Skoda avenges her death. During a robbery at his father's bank, he is shot and killed.
