Das Millionenspiel

BR Deutschland 1970 TV-Spielfilm

Summary

The Millions Game

A commercial TV station starts a man hunt on volunteer candidate Bernhard Lotz with three other candidates – whose aim is to kill Lotz. Whoever shoots him gets the "winning money" of 120.000 Deutsche Marks. With regard to the TV ratings, the producer would like to see the candidate get shot in front of running cameras. But when the hunted candidate endures seven days and appears alive in the TV studio, he would win one million Deutsche Marks. The cruel man hunt that is spectacularly accompanied by TV cameras and is presented by a cynical host in a TV studio was watched by millions of sensationalist TV viewers in front of the TV screens.
