Biography

Kristin Suckow, born in 1989 in Königs Wusterhausen, received lessons in classical ballet, jazz dance and modern dance at the KinderTanzTheater Berlin-Brandenburg at primary school age; between 2001 and 2003 she participated in the stage project "Turmbau zu Babel" at the Theaterstudio Berlin. After graduating from school she studied acting at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen 'Konrad Wolf' in Babelsberg (2008-2012), at the same time she took singing lessons (among others with Christian Steyer). 

Already during her studies Suckow took on first film and theatre roles. In 2010 she performed Marie in "Woyzeck" at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin and appeared at the at the Volksbühne in "Wider den Donjuanismus". Between 2011 and 2013 she took part in various productions at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam.  

Kristin Suckow gave her debut in front of the camera in the short film "Zwischen den Fronten" in 2009. After that she had a short appearance in the youth drama "Bis aufs Blut - Brüder auf Bewährung" ("Stronger Than Blood", 2010) and played a supporting role in Tom Lass' "Papa Gold" (2011). She belonged to the ensemble of the medical drama "Herzversagen" (2012, TV) and had an important supporting role in Thomas Stubers milieu study "Herbert" (2015) as a table dancer with whom the title character falls in love. Suckow also continued to play theatre, among others at the Ernst Deutsch Theater Hamburg (2014-2016). There she received the award "Outstanding Actress" for her performance of Luise in "Kabale und Liebe" at the Theaterpreis Hamburg in 2016.  

On television Suckow has been guest starring in numerous crime series such as "Heiter bis tödlich", "SOKO Leipzig", "Großstadtrevier" and "Wilsberg". On the big screen, she played supporting roles in the initimate GDR drama "Das Geständnis" (2015), in Jakob Lass' "Tiger Girl" (2017) and in "Lux - Krieger des Lichts" ("Lux: Warrior of Light", 2017). Kristin Suckow got her first leading role in a feature-length movie in the comedy "Frau Mutter Tier" ("Mother Bee", 2018), as a single mother who is heavily dependent on the help of her dominant mother. She starred in another leading role in the biopic "Ottilie von Faber-Castell" (2019, TV), about the dazzling life of the famous pencil factory heiress.
