Anna Grisebach was born in Göttingen on March 20 1974. Her sister is film director Valeska Grisebach. At age fifteen, she made her TV debut in the series "Ein Heim für Tiere" (1989), followed by guest appearances in "Edgar, Hüter der Moral" (1990) and "Praxis Bülowbogen" (1994) as well as a supporting role in the made-for-TV feature "Mutter mit 16" (1992).

From 1994 until 1998, Grisebach studied acting at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding and Hochschule für Musik und Theater, which are both located in Munich. During that time, she guest-starred on TV and also performed regularly in plays at the Residenztheater in Munich. After finishing her training, she became a company player at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich (1999-2003) and the Theater Freiburg (2004-2006). In later years, she performed at the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf, the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Maxim Gorki Theater and the Schauspielhaus Bochum.

In addition to her stage career, Anna Grisebach became a regular TV presence from 2008 on, including roles in the acclaimed drama "Frau Böhm sagt Nein" (2009, TV), the comedy "Sind denn alle Männer Schweine?" (2010, TV) and the TV-adaptation of the bestselling novel "Überleben an der Wickelfront" (2012, TV).

Grisebach played the key witness of a terrorist attack in the theatrical release "Der blinde Fleck" ("The Blind Spot", 2013). She got her first leading role in Florian Gottschick's "Nachthelle" ("Bright Night", 2014), in which she plays a woman who is confronted with her guilty past while vacationing in the area where she grew up. Also in 2014, she became one of the leads of the TV series "Heiter bis tödlich: Koslowski & Haferkamp".
