A student has spied on his classmates for the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, and commits suicide. The informant Körner asks the teacher Brasch to now also work for the service, which he refuses. Because of his failed assignment Körner is deactivated and takes revenge on both sides: He destroys Brasch's livelihood, but at the same time supplies him with compromising secret documents of the BfV. Who gets the short end of the stick is obvious: When Brasch wants to go public with the material or at least address those who are politically responsible, he gets to know the long arm of the state.
