Wie wär's mit uns beiden?

In three episodes about six people, the film takes on the topics of relationships, difficult social engagements , and love in the German Democratic Republic. 30-year old Nepomuk has divorced his wife and is looking for a new partner. Karin might be a good match for him. In the second episode, salesman Kurcharski picks up a female hitchhiker and they spend the night together. Then she tells him that she has escaped from a youth detention centre. The third episode tells the story of worker Wessely who considers himself to be an unlucky fellow. After an accident at work, a medical student is looking after him and he falls in love with her. But their relationship nearly founders on his pessimism.
