At Maxe’s school, everything is ordered by the big book of rules of the petty-minded headmaster Schnittlich. Fun is forbidden and nice things end up in the Farbentsafter 2000, which leaves only a brown pile. When Maxe causes chaos, it calls Inspector Rumpus of the Bureau for Combating Boredom to the scene. The good-humoured agent not only thwarts the director’s plans to subject all schools to his rules, but also sends the children on an adventurous class trip together with their teacher Frau Penne. Slapstick and curious characters, embodied by film and comedy stars such as Max Giermann as Schnittlich, provide entertaining entertainment in this children’s book adaptation.
