Feature film based on the true events of the biggest forgery scandal in Germany in decades. The successful, award-winning journalist Lars Bogenius attracts countless readers with his brilliantly written articles - so many, in fact, that he is single-handedly responsible for a considerable portion of the circulation of the renowned magazine for which he writes. But colleague Juan Romero discovers some inconsistencies and invented components in his articles. While his superiors do not want to believe him and rather suspect envy behind his accusations, Romero plunges into a comprehensive research, in which he checks the truth of Bogenius' reports detail by detail. Romero not only risks his career, but his obsession also puts his family to the test. A trip to the U.S.-Mexico border, the scene of one of Bogenius' reports, shall finally prove his lies.
