Roland Kagan Sommer, born in 2002, made his first appearance in front of the camera in 2009 in the multi-award-winning family story "Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland", playing the little son Muhamed. The film premiered at the Berlinale in 2011. In the same year, Wolfgang Murnberger cast Sommer in a bigger role as the son of a Turkish family in Vienna for his multicultural TV comedy "Kebab mit Alles" (AT 2011), a role Sommer played again in the sequel "Kebab extra scharf!" (AT 2017, TV).

His first lead role was in the feature film "Sandstern" (2018): Directed by Yilmaz Arslan, he portrayed a 12-year-old, who grew up with his grandmother in Turkey, but is then forced to move to Germany to live with his parents, he hardly knows.
