The first West German film production after World War II, the shooting of which began before the end of the war but was interrupted in 1945: In the finished version, Gustav Fröhlich plays the role of the architect Peter, which was previously cast with Heinz Rühmann. Peter's fiancée, Maria, is a chronic liar who hides her little affairs. To change this, Peter bets that he will tell everyone the truth for 24 hours. The consequences are disastrous: Peter clashes with the truth in numerous situations and ends up in a "mental institution.
