Biography

Taneshia Abt was born in Berlin in 1988. She received classical ballet lessons as a child and performed in various revues at Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast between 1997 and 2005. From 2008 to 2010 she received acting coaching at "Die Tankstelle" in Berlin and trained at the Schauspielschule Charlottenburg from 2010 to 2013. She subsequently appeared on stage at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz (2014), the Schauspielhaus Wien (2016) and the Hamburger Kammerspiele (2016-17), among others.

She made her big screen debut in the leading role of an offender just released from prison in the highly acclaimed drama "Therapie" (2016), which was screened at several festivals. Since then, Abt has regularly appeared in television and cinema productions. Among others, she had supporting roles in TV dramas such as "Jenseits der Angst" (2018) and in numerous series, including "Letzte Spur Berlin", "Soko Hamburg" and "Der Bergdoktor". On the big screen, she was part of the ensemble of Detlev Buck's "Wuff" (2018) and Simon Verhoeven's "Nightlife" (2020) in supporting roles.

After a leading role in the six-part web series "2 Minuten" (2020) and further supporting roles in TV productions, Abt appeared in the comedy "JGA: Jasmin. Gina. Anna." in the title role of Gina in 2022.
