Biography

Pina Kühr was born on May 21, 1987 in Freiburg. After graduating from high school, she appeared without formal acting training at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in productions such as "The Physicists" (2006) and "The Birds" (2007). She then studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Bochum from 2008 to 2012. During her studies, Kühr wrote and directed the short film "Ein.Paar.Geschichten. (2010), which was screened at the Max-Ophüls-Preis Film Festival.

After graduating, Kühr played at the Schauspielhaus Bochum theater during the 2011/12 season, where she appeared as Mother Margarite in "Cyrano de Bergerac" under the direction of Katharina Thalbach. From 2012 to 2015 Pina Kühr was a member of the ensemble at the Theater Regensburg. There she played roles such as Amalia in "The Robbers" and Marie in "Woyzeck". She then moved on to Theater Bamberg (2015-2017), where her roles included Kriemhild in "The Nibelungs."

In 2017, Pina Kühr moved to Berlin and started acting in television and film productions. She landed her first lead role in the series "Die Läusemutter" (2019-2021), portraying a single mother who faces the challenges of her daughter's new elementary school. She also played leading roles in the romantic film "Rosamunde Pilcher - Stadt, Land, Kuss" (2020) and had guest appearances in episodes of various series, including "Nix Festes" (2020), "Bettys Diagnose" (2021), "Jerks" (2022) and "Lena Lorenz - Kreuz und queer" (2023). Pina Kühr's first leading role in a feature film was in the award-winning tragicomedy "Schlussklappe" (2021, released: 2023), where she portrayed an up-and-coming director presenting her short film at a festival.
