Biography

Born in 1986, Anna Fischer played one of her first minor roles in Hans-Christian Schmid's movie "Lichter" ("Distant Lights"). In addition, she appeared in a number of television series such as "Berlin, Berlin", "SOKO Leipzig", and "Großstadtrevier". She returned to the big screen in 2005, starring next to Peter Kurth in Till Endemann's episodic film "Kometen", before causing a stir with her leading part in Jeanette Wagner's "Liebeskind". Her portrayal of Alma, a girl who gets mixed up in erotic feelings for her father whom she meets when she is 17 years old, earned her an award for Best Young Actress at the Saarbruecken Film Festival "Max Ophüls Preis". After that, she took on further roles in TV movies and series and made a short appearance in Gregor Schnitzler's film "Die Wolke" ("The Cloud"). In 2007, she was awarded the "Goldene Kamera" in the category "Best Young Actress".

Also in 2007 she played in five episodes of the TV-series "Hilfe! Hochzeit! – Die schlimmste Woche meines Lebens" and in the TV-movie "Teufelsbraten" for which she was awarded a Grimme-Preis together with her co-star Ulrich Noethen. After an important supporting role in the cine comedy "Fleisch ist mein Gemüse" Fischer again participated in some ambitious TV productions such as "Wir sind das Volk – Liebe kennt keine Grenzen" (2008) or Ute Wieland's historic drama "Die Rebellin" (2009) – two roles for which she was awarded German Television Award as Best Actress in Supporting Roles.

In 2009 she was also seen in Peter Timm's "Liebe Mauer", followed in 2010 by the acclaimed TV-drama "Masserberg" and in the cinema by Marc Rothemund's teenage romance "Groupies bleiben nicht zum Frühstück", in which she starred alongside Kostja Ullmann. 2010 she also plays an important part in Dennis Gansel's vampire drama "Wir sind die Nacht". Two years later she starred in Marco Petry's "Heiter bis wolkig", followed by the leading role in Barbara Albert's "Die Lebenden" (2012).

Besides acting, Anna Fischer is also a musician and a member of the Berlin rock band "Panda".
