Biography

Hannah Schiller was born on 6 January 2000 in Bonn. She gained her first stage experience as a teenager in the children's and youth chorus of the Oper Bonn, appearing in several productions between 2015 and 2019. These included Mozart's "The Magic Flute" (2014–2018) and "Tosca" (2017), in which she sang a solo with the children's chorus.

Schiller made her screen debut in 2013 with a small part in the TV production "Die Mütter-Mafia". In 2016 she landed a recurring role as a child of divorcing parents in the series "Phönixsee," and returned to the part for its second season in 2019. She also took on guest roles in other series while completing her Abitur, the German university-entrance qualification.

Schiller played a lead role in Stefan Krohmer's television film "Eine fremde Tochter" (2019) as a 15-year-old who moves in with her gay father and his partner after her mother's death. Directed by Sebastian Marka, she took another lead in "Parasomnia" (2020), a Dresden-set episode of "Tatort", Germany's long-running and highly popular crime series, playing a deeply traumatized 14-year-old who witnesses a murder. The performance earned her the 2021 Deutscher Schauspielpreis (German Acting Award) in the Newcomer category.

In the comedy series "Tilo Neumann und das Universum" (2021), Schiller played the daughter of the title character (Christoph Maria Herbst). In Daniel Harrich's investigative drama "Bis zum letzten Tropfen" (2022, TV), she played the daughter of a small-town mayor who takes on a powerful corporation. The award-winning drama "Runner" (DE/FR/US 2022) cast her as a teenager of German descent in rural Missouri. In "Du gehörst mir" (2023), a Magdeburg-set episode of the crime series "Polizeiruf 110", she played a stalking victim. Schiller also drew praise from critics for her portrayal of a depressed teenager in the miniseries "Reset – Wie weit willst du gehen?" (2024). For this role, she and Katja Riemann, who played her mother, were jointly nominated for the Deutscher Schauspielpreis in the Duo category. She has also appeared in a number of other series and TV films.

On the big screen, Hannah Schiller played an ambitious high-school student and online personality in the tragicomedy "Liebhaberinnen" ("Women as Lovers," DE/LU 2026). This was followed by a lead role in the father-daughter drama "Matilda" (2026, release date yet to be announced) and a supporting role in "Die Schule der magischen Tiere 5" ("The School of Magical Animals 5," 2027).
