Of Girls and Horses
Sent away by her adoptive mother, Alex, a 16-year-old school dropout, starts an internship on a horse ranch close to the North Sea. Her trainer is thirtysomething Nina, who is taking a leave of absence from city life and her romantic relationship with Christine. One day, 16-year-old Kathy arrives as a holiday guest with her own horse. Kathy is an expert equestrienne, but also a shy, lonely girl struggling to find her own identity. Slowly, a friendship develops between her and Alex. The sensual aura of the horses provides a sphere where the two young women can connect. A coming-of-age tale and a story about love between horses, women and girls.
