Summary
The conflict between the neighboring villages of Oberriesling and Unterriesling continues: When the roof of the shared church caves in during Sunday service, pastor Schäuble must confess that he spent the churchgoer's donations on alcohol and not on the building's much-needed renovation. While this revelation understandably enrages the parish, Maria and her sisters Christine and Klara come up with an idea that might restore peace in the community and the church as well: The marching bands of the villages should unite to play together for the prize-money at a music contest in Hamburg.
