Summary
The pianist Lucy gives up her familiar way of life in order to support her partner Philip after a professional breakdown. Together with their son, they move to the countryside, where she must adjust to a very different daily reality. As she does so, her own career ambitions gradually stall. A similar situation unfolds for Elsa, a police investigator who is deeply committed to her work and thrives in it. At the same time, she carries the responsibility of caring for her father, who is living with dementia, a burden that weighs heavily on her. Both women structure their lives around men whose choices and behavior they begin to question more and more, even as they struggle to confront the darker sides of these relationships that they would rather not see.
