24-year-old Kai lives with his wife Ayşe and their four-year-old daughter Jenny in a run-down neighborhood in the Ruhr region. The grey buildings are crumbling, and the area is marked by unemployment and a lack of prospects. Kai works hard at a meat factory alongside his uncle Andy, but the money barely covers their needs. When his older brother Mirko shows up unexpectedly after an early release from prison, Kai's already fragile routine begins to unravel. Mirko demands the return of the €10,000 he once hid at Kai's place — but Kai has already spent the money on his family. Desperate, Kai tries to come up with the cash, but time is running out, and Mirko forces him to start working as a drug courier again. Eventually, Kai makes a dangerous decision: he goes to the police to turn in his brother. The deal seems to be working — until the violent Mirko escapes at the last moment and sets out for revenge.
