The Poet's Wife
Film portrait of the Turkish painter Güler Yücel (1935-2020), wife of the political poet Can Yücel (1926-1999). Her paintings show weddings and funerals; she painted her husband and herself. In a way, her paintings tell of the cycle of life, for example, when she captures the annual almond blossom and the traditional olive harvest - all things from her own everyday life: "I can't paint anything I haven't seen," says Yücel.
