The sequel to the box office hit "Es muß nicht immer Kaviar sein" (Operation Caviar) is also based on a best-selling novel by Johannes Mario Simmel. Once again, Thomas Lieven, the bank assistant from London, is becoming a spy against his will when he comes into conflict with several rival intelligence services. Thomas has to act as a double and even a triple agent to save himself from this situation. His adventures as a British recruit in Gibraltar, a prisoner in Lisbon, and as an SS officer in Paris coincide with his amorous involvements with his three girls Françoise, Mimi und Vera.
Prequel: "Es muß nicht immer Kaviar sein" (Operation Caviar), D/F 1961, directed by Géza von Radványi. In 1977, ZDF remade the movie as the 13-part TV series "Es muß nicht immer Kaviar sein", which was directed by Thomas Engel.
