Inflation
A criticism of capitalism using avant-garde means, in keeping with Richter’s argument that "even invisible things must be made visible". In this experimental collage of animated numbers and documentary images, he shows the increase and devaluation of money, and the winners and losers of inflation during an economic crisis. Within seconds, a wealthy man reading a newspaper becomes a beggar, the zeros on the banknotes multiply – right up until the stock exchange physically collapses.
