Tom Gramenz was born in Wiesbaden on May 6 1991. From 2006 on, he got his first acting experiences as member of a school theatre troupe, which led to a part in the stage adaptation of the film "Sommer vorm Balkon" at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. This was followed by first TV appearances in series like "112 – Sie retten dein Leben" (2008), "Countdown - Die Jagd beginnt" (2009) and "Kommissar Stolberg" (2012). Moreover, Gramenz acted in stage productions of the Junge Bühne Mainz.

After a memorable turn in the made-for-TV feature film "Der Fall Jakob von Metzler" (2012), he was cast by director Sylke Enders for "Geliebtes Kind" (2012). Between 2012 and 2015, Gramenz had a recurring role in the TV series "SOKO Köln", followed by a lead role in the TV mystery series "Armans Geheimnis" (2015-2017). He also frequently guest-starred in other programs, for instance in the "Tatort" entry "Level X" (2016).

Tom Gramenz got his first leading role in a theatrical release with Lars Kraume's "Das schweigende Klassenzimmer" ("The Silent Revolution"), in which he plays a high school student in 1950s East-Germany who is harassed by the secret police Stasi. The film premiered at the 2018 Berlin IFF, and was released shortly afterwards. Also in 2018, Gramenz is to complete his training as an actor at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin.
