Deutschland 1991-1994 Animationsfilm

Asterix in America

In the course of a brawl in their Gallic village, the magic potion that gives the heroes Asterix and Obelix their super-human power tips over. Before the druid Getafix can make another brew, the Romans capture him and sail westward, catapulting him into space from their galley at the edge of the world. They be-lieve the earth is flat. With their village under siege by the Romans, Asterix and Obelix set out after Getafix. They end up in America, where Asterix is captured by a tribe of Indians, who already hold Getafix prisoner. After Obelix saves the chief′s daughter from a stampeding herd of buffalo; he defeats the tribe‚s mightiest brave and rescues his two comrades from the stake. The power-hungry medicine man has designs on their magic potion and Getafix has to use every trick in the book to protect its secret formula. The three Gauls finally put a stop to the charlatan and waste no time in returning home. On arriving they find their village burned to the ground and its inhabitants abducted. Our heroes free their friends, tear the Romans camp apart and send Caesar on his merry way.
