Christian Becker was born on January 4, 1971, in Düsseldorf. He worked for several advertising agencies and as a photo assistant in Düsseldorf and Paris before studying at Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne from 1994 to 1999 and at Escuela de cine y television in Cuba from 1996 to 1997. His first short film "Viene del cielo" that Becker shot in Cuba won "Best Short Film" at the Dresden film festival in 1998. Becker then finished two more short films, "Luder" (2000) and "Wir werden ja sehen" (2002). In 2004, Becker made his first full-length feature film "Egoshooter" with co-director Oliver Schwabe, starring Tom Schilling in the leading part. Becker is living in Cologne.
