Biography

Achim Bornhak was born January 3, 1969 and studied at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg from 1991 to 1996. The 50-minute film "Der Marianengraben" he shot at Filmakademie was nominated for a "Student Academy Award". Bornhak then made two TV movies: The drama "School's Out" (1997) portrays a school class on the last day of their final exams whereas the action film "Operation Noah" (1998) is about an oil rig that is threatened by a terrorist attack. "Das wilde Leben" ("8 Miles High", 2007) is Bornhak's feature film debut. He not only directed this film biography of Uschi Obermaier, the icon of the 1968 movement, but also wrote the screen play together with Olaf Kraemer.
