Tamara Simunovic, born 1973 in Berlin, attended drama school at Berlin’s Fritz-Kirchhoff-Berufsfachschule. After several minor parts in movie and TV productions such as the Italian-American co-production "Il Branco" (1994) or the TV series "Einsatz Hamburg Süd" (1997), Simunovic made a name with critics and moviegoers alike as a Bosnian prostitute in Eoin Moore’s "Plus Minus Null" ("Break Even"). In 1999, she made her final breakthrough with parts in Dominik Graf’s award-winning TV drama "Deine besten Jahre" and the tragicomedy "Schnee in der Neujahrsnacht" ("Snow on New Year’s Eve"). Her portrayal of a lovesick and suicidal Russian woman won newcomer Simunovic a nomination for the German film prize.

Simunovic then starred in several movie productions such as the comedy "Ein göttlicher Job" ("A Goddamn Job") alongside Oliver Korittke and "Birthday", the story about a friendship, which won the price for the best screen play and the audience award at the 2001 Max Ophüls Festival. But Simunovic is mainly seen in TV productions: She starred in series such as "Wolffs Revier" ("Wolff"s Turf"), "Wilsberg", and in a leading role in the crime series "Kommissarin Lucas" (2003-2006). In 2007, Tamara Simunovic returns to the big screen with the episodic movie "GG19".
